System slowdowns have an infinity of causes, ranging for poor hardware pushed way beyond its limits to flawed Windows installations or normal wear-out of the operating system. If buying new hardware is usually expensive, keeping the operating system fit might be much cheaper and equally efficient.
Tune Up Utilities needs no presentation: it is the ultimate tool when it comes to speeding up your PC. Introduced about 15 years ago, it has quickly become my favorite tool to kick my system back in shape every time it stalls.
Interface & Looks
The 2011 iteration comes with an extremely well optimized interface. the top menu is laid out by categories, but an alternative view of all the functions the applications can perform is also available. Tune Up Utilities 2011 initially scans the system on the look-out for software errors such as Registry errirs and fragmentation, broken shortcuts, temporary files or hard-disk drive fragmentation.
Feature Set
After the scan has been performed, the application displays a compfrehensive list of errors, something that most tune-up software suites would rather keep private. Each error or suggestionn is carefully explained to the user for their informed consent on how to proceed next.
Tune-Up Utilities includes a wide assortment of performance tweaks, such as video, connectivity, start-up or application-level optimizations. The software suite offers a comprehensive list of such optimizations. However, chances are that you will never use them individually, but rather as part of the one-click maintenance option that is conveniently placed first.
Comprehensive Reporting
What's particularly interesting about Tune Up Utilities 2011 is the fact that it is built with the average computer user in mind. There is no technical mumbo-jumbo, no sense of magig, just accurate reporting that actually shows the user what was wrong, what was fixed and, more to the point, what these fixes will brings in terms of performance. One eloquent example is the fact that, after the disc clean-up process finished successfully, the application reported that the 734 MB of free space previously taken by 608 old files can be used to store more than 458 photos and more than 128 songs.
Overall
Tune-Up Utilities 2011 is surely the pinnacle of excellence in terms of system tune-up. It is not only extremely easy to use compared to the impressive set of features offered to the user, but it is also lightweight and accurate. Tune-Up Utilities 2011 puts extra care on the system's safety by providing extensive backups of critical files prior to taking any action or performing any optimizations.
