Microsoft will release more gaming titles for Kinect next year

Microsoft's brand-new Kinect gaming gizmo for the XBox 360 consoles has proven to be a great success. The motion-detecting add-on is already revolutionary, but, according to its manufacturer, it will "blow people's minds" during the next year as one of the biggest inventions in the home entertainment industry.

The director of Xbox and Entertainment for the UK, Stephen McGill, predicts that 2011 will see the Kinect peripheral as one of the top products in gaming.

"We've got a brilliant line-up for 2011 but it's ultimately all about Kinect. Kinect is going to blow people's minds", said McGill.

  They're already buying it, but we've got a line-up of Kinect games that will blow people away," he continued.

The XBox director also predicted that XBox will ride on the market share bandwagon both because of kinect, but also becaus of the multitude of gaming titles that will be released during the next year.

"It's also about great entertainment and that's another key factor for us," McGill claimed. "We were the first company - and the best company, I think - to offer regular updates to our service so you don't have to keep on buying new bits of hardware", he continued.

Kinect already sold 2.5 million units since it hit the market on November 4th this year. Although at the moment there are a limited number of gaming titles, some publishers have announced their intention to release Kinect-based games during the next year.
